Awesome scoop! You won't find better in its price range.
Update on September 28, 2016:It's been a year and this scoop is still going strong. I've been using it in my freezer for ice and it works great. I've since bought another one that I use for flour, and it's good too, though it doesn't see nearly as much use or stress as my ice scoop. This is a great product.Original Review:Originally, I was hesitant to purchase this scoop for ice, when there were similarly priced metal scoops available. After all, I thought, isn't metal better than plastic? Plus, this scoop has an odd egg-like shape, different from how ice scoops usually look. There's no need to reinvent the wheel! I just needed a regular old ice scoop. However, after reading the reviews for the metal scoops, the cheap ones all seem to have quality problems (perhaps that's not surprising; how can you sell a good metal scoop for $5 or $6?). Unlike the cheap metal scoops, this one has spectacular reviews. I decided to trust my previous reviewers and buy it. I'm glad I did! The quality of this scoop is great and I totally love it!Pros:1) The scoop's egg-like shape is because it's narrow at the end and curved in such a way that it can actually be poured with quite a bit of precision. The scoop's end easily fits inside of drinking glasses, so there's never any ice on the floor. If you're using it for something different, like rice or flour, I think you'll also appreciate the more precise pours you can make with this scoop, compared to a typical wide-mouthed scoop.2) The scoop holds approximately one cup. When used for ice, a full scoop usually gives me exactly the amount I want in a large 21 oz. glass. I use a lot of ice in my drinks, so it's likely most people using this as an ice scoop will never need more than one scoopful in their beverages.3) The plastic is smooth and the handle feels nice in my hand.4) Since it's plastic, it can be left in the freezer or an ice bucket without getting uncomfortably cold to touch.5) It's BPA free (I don't see anything about this on the Amazon listing, but OXO says it's BPA free on their website).Cons:I can think of no cons for this product. I've only been using it for a month so far, so I'll update my review if I encounter any problems with durability.I love this scoop and would recommend it to anyone.

My New Favorite Ice Scoop!
I recently added the OXO Good Grips Flexible Scoop to my kitchen arsenal specifically for handling ice, and I am absolutely delighted with it! This seemingly simple tool has proven to be incredibly versatile and effective, easily earning a full 5-star rating. What I love most about this scoop is its perfect balance of rigidity and flexibility. The sturdy handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, allowing for excellent control when dealing with ice. The flexible head effortlessly conforms to the contours of ice makers, ice buckets, and even narrow glass openings. This means I can scoop every last cube without fumbling or spilling, and it's fantastic for breaking up small clumps of ice. No more struggling with rigid, awkward scoops!I've used it for everything from quickly filling glasses with ice, transferring ice from trays to a cooler, and even getting into the tight corners of my refrigerator's ice bin. It's incredibly efficient and makes serving ice a breeze. The high-quality silicone material is durable, cold-resistant, and super easy to clean (dishwasher safe!). It doesn't scratch containers, which is a huge bonus. Plus, the "good grips" handle lives up to its name, providing a non-slip hold even with wet hands from condensation. If you're looking for a simple, effective, and versatile tool that will quickly become indispensable for all your ice-handling needs, the OXO Good Grips Flexible Scoop is it. It's a small investment that delivers huge convenience and efficiency. Highly, highly recommend!

The perfect scoop!
We needed a scoop for our ice maker because our freezer is the kind that doesn’t dispense ice but rather drops in the bin from above. This good grips brand is the perfect scoop. It fits a scoop of ice for an average glass (8-10 oz), it’s well made, the handle is rubberized and can squeeze slightly for a better grip (making it easy to use), and the cost was reasonable. It fits in the ice bin perfectly and if it needs cleaning, it’s safe to pop in the dishwasher! No need to look further!

Perfect as a leave in freezer ice scoop.
Ok, it is probably more expensive than it needs to be, but it is worth it. It’s the perfect size for filling glasses and bottles with ice. It can be squished a little for smaller bottle openings. The rubberized material on the handle is perfect for leaving in the freezer as it is not freezing cold or slippery for those with arthritic hands. As others have mentioned, it handles breaking up stuck cubes easily. I haven’t come across an Oxo product that disappoints yet.
