I am very pleased with Instant Energy. In my personal quest for steady alertness for my working life, I have consumed a lot of coffee and B vitamins. This product combines the caffeine of a cup of coffee with a day's serving of the B family of vitamins. The B's regulate metabolism, neurotransmitter rates, and energy/fatigue among other body functions. Instant Energy also includes antioxidant rich supplements like acai, ginseng, and maca. The inclusion of taurine for skeletal muscle function is also something I'm glad to have included, especially since I'm not a huge meat eater and don't get a lot of it in my daily diet.As for the effects, I find that one capsule in the morning easily replaces my morning cup of coffee, without the stomach discomfort that coffee causes when I drink it first thing. It provides steady energy for the first several hours of my work day. As a freelance writer with multiple projects, the wakefulness and focus from the caffeine is invaluable. I find I move from project to project with ease, communicate with clients, look for new work, all without the usual restlessness and drowsiness that appears in the early afternoon. I haven't had the need to take a second capsule in the afternoons, though the packaging says that you can. I also like that the ingredients of Instant Energy are powders packed in capsules, not hard pills. I never know if I'm actually digesting those hard pills.All said, I'd recommend this to anyone who needs a little push in the right direction to keep up with their work. It's a convenient and affordable to bring together a lot of the wakefulness supplements that I've found to be useful. Combined with a good night's sleep (which I have found to be unaffected by this product), it is just the thing I need.

At first I was sceptical on buying these because of the price but had some pretty good reviews and I figured if they worked it was worth it. Come to find out I'm Disappointed, Doesn't work! Started with one (serving recommend) it did nothing. Found myself taking 2, soon after I started feeling hot, tingling and like I had a sub burn all over. Fifteen minutes or passed and I was feeling good to go but the only lasted about 20 minutes then I just wanted to sleep!

I made the mistake of taking this product on an empty stomach. It says take with food - and you should.I felt like I was going to puke and a friend of mine had a similar feeling.The next day, I tried again after eating and it was a substantial difference.It WAS instant energy. It definitely did not last 8 hours like the product claims, but I did feel more energetic and not the shaky gross kind. It was a nice feeling!This is a great product for the fast energy boost you need at that "2:30 crash" feeling.Just make sure to take with food, and don't take with other forms of caffiene. I took it with a cup of coffee and felt like I was going to have a heart attack, as it is 100 mg of caffeine.Overall this is a good product - especially for the amount of money it is worth. I keep it in my purse for the tedious Mondays and I can see it helping me get through the long work week without having to drink coffee or an energy drink.

These energy pills did not work.

This is a fantastic, fast-acting, effective, and smooth energy supplement. I have taken several energy products and this is by far the best product because it actually lasts 8 hours and makes me feel energized. I do feel a surge when the pill first kicks in, similar to drinking a cup of coffee, but it does not have the same negative side effects of other similar products, such as shaking hands, racing heart, stomach ache, or dry mouth.I take this pill around 1PM while at work in order to energize me through the afternoon and long enough to get through work and class. The first two days I took it I noticed I wasn't as hungry as other days when I didn't take it, but I mitigated that by eating a small snack at the time I ingested the pill and regained my appetite. I felt energetic, focused, and alert for about 7-8 hours after ingestion. It has caffeine in it, and caffeine improves focus in addition to providing energy. I definitely found that it helped keep me focused, which was a great added benefit. Definitely recommend this product for anyone who is looking to feel more energetic and alert.

I never really buy energy supplements, but went off the positive reviews for these since I have been trying to work out more. I am late 40s with a desk job and experience some tired crashes late in the day. However, I eat healthy overall and weigh about 130 lbs (5'7") but also eat too much sugar. Heh. So... I even shared a few of the pills with someone who runs A LOT of distance races and they said they worked well, and they had experienced jittery feelings with some other products. As for me, I don't run long distances and lately have generally been running 3-5 miles at the gym a few times a week with a strength training class for an hour a couple other days. Running my first half marathon in a few months. I bought these a few months ago but have had weeks where I've taken none since I don't want to get hooked on energy pills. Lately I take maybe 2-3 in an entire week, but on longer run days I take one and can tell a difference - not a huge difference but I think you don't want that, that 'high' jittery feeling- these give you a boost and for me it's definite, if not major. I've used it the morning of a 5k race also and really did feel stronger that last mile than normal. Gives a bit of an energy boost, just right in my opinion. Why four stars? Price is slightly higher and they're not AWESOME...but I think I'd still buy again and just use on race days and long run days.
