Drum room deadening

I received three boxes (six vacuum-sealed packs of 36) on a Friday and finished a wall and the door in my drum room on Saturday afternoon... 88 panels on the wall, a total of 112 panels counting the door and above. I installed them from the bottom up, one pin each. The 2" thickness made it easy to line everything up. I'd say about 80% of the panels "inflated" to size overnight. Some were good right out of the plastic and others needed manual coaxing with fingers only to get them to rebound into shape. For install, I read the horror-story reviews of folks trying to remove the panels from sheetrocked walls and having either damage to or a lot of debris left behind on the sheet rock - especially for people renting their space. One sewing reviewer recommended using push pins (pictured are 2" pins). They worked like a champ where I had simple sheet rock to push through and not wood framing or nail heads. For those situations I used simple plastic pushpins one might use for posters (like me!)..... anyway, these panels went up easily. I just had to cut around the electrical outlets. I like the look of the black and grey checkering. On the door, I did the peel and stick backing and once done, I could not hear my wife watching TV on our Klipsch speaker surround system on the opposite side of the paper thin, non insulated wall. Only the subwoofer rumble traveled through but that was to be expected. I have drums and a PA system in the 11x12 room and the neighbors' house about 20 feet beyond our outside wall. They're behind my drums and PA so THAT is my main concern in cutting down on noise.... keeping the neighbors clueless on my drumming to generally hard rock and roll is my goal. (My wife loves the drumming and rock and roll, so we're good.) The room sounds pretty dead already with just the one wall and door covered. I'll get to the other three walls and closet soon. Note: the little areas where the tiles have wiggly lines is where the push pins go to and through the sheet rock. Doesn't bother me at all. I have 104 more panels available to install and will likely need to buy more to finish out the room. Black rubber interlocking tiles were installed on the floor some weeks ago to help with noise reflections. Different review. :)

Kids Love it for their game room.

We recently purchased the Acoustic Foam squares for our kid's game room, and we couldn't be happier with the results! The transformation in the room's acoustics is remarkable. The foam squares effectively absorb sound, creating a much quieter and more enjoyable space for gaming. Not only do these squares serve a functional purpose, but they also add a stylish touch to the room. The design is sleek and modern, complementing the overall decor. Installation was a breeze, and the adhesive backing ensured a secure fit on the walls. Our kids absolutely love the improved gaming experience. The reduced echo and noise make it easier to concentrate on their games, and we, as parents, appreciate the peace it brings to the rest of the house.Overall, we highly recommend the Acoustic Foam squares for anyone looking to enhance the acoustics of their space. It's a fantastic investment for a more enjoyable and quieter environment. Five stars without a doubt!

Great product, packaging could use some work

Bought this on a whim while adding some features to my office setup.Product arrived timely, although it was delivered to my neighbor, instead of me, even with detailed delivery instructions. It was packaged in a plain cardboard box, with the panels themselves in vacuum sealed plastic bags, albeit one of the two bags had a hole (which turned out to be a blessing, more on that later). After unpacking the panels, the instructions say that they should expand within seconds. They did not. Being impatient, I didn’t want to wait the 24 hours suggested to wait for them to expand. To that end, I misted them lightly with water, and applied a hair dryer to the panels in order to steam the panels slightly and force them to expand. It worked like a charm, though I suggest picking apart the individual layers before doing this, as they won’t want to expand if they’re stuck together. After they all expanded, it was a simple matter of peel-and-stick to apply them to the wall. They work well to absorb sound, and have this-far remained where I put them.

Worked Perfect!

I wasn't actually sure how this would work for the application I needed it for. I had a void below and enclosure I made for my custom car audio. It was too small to install Dynamite correctly, no room to actually apply any kind of pressure for rolling it on. So I did some research and found this on Amazon, thought why not give it a try. When I received it, the adhesive is very tacky so I knew with my limited amount of room I should still be able to apply enough pressure to get it to adhere to the truck. I was not wrong! I completely filled in the entire gap, it is very dense now and has no sound echoing in that little void area at all! Very pleased! I look forward to finding what other applications I can use this on in the future! Great price for a great product! Gotta love it!

Product received is not as quality or robust as the advertisement shows

I received my two 12-packs and they were quite compressed into a thin package for shipping. Thus causes many of the tiles to not recover the original and intended design. Furthermore, what I've received is not the same density as most professional acoustic sound diffuser wall tiles. Rather they seem like a very sparse material such as cheap weatherstripping. But they will diffuse some sound. These do tend to dampen echos generally okay, however they only provide a modest amount of diffusing.Note that these are not sound absorption tiles, as the maximum 2 inches protrusions, plus cheaper material won't act as an absorbtion treatment. They are in fact diffusers. The self stick adhesive is okay, but I recommend attaching a few (2, 4, or 6) tiles to a larger mounting plate/plane such as an art poster board. This allows for moving the tiles around without as much fussing with adhesives down the road.
