A really nice light - works very well and looks great

We were doing a master bedroom makeover. We had cabinets, dresser drawers, and a dressing table built in two walls, 10 feet tall. They turned out beautifully. But the finishing touch had been this light fixture. My husband is a “hue NUT”! Every light in, on, and around our home is voice activated and IPhone controlled…I can’t remember all the names and I get confused and frustrated. I’m not an auditory learner. I honestly didn’t want a hue light fixture for MY dressing table! I just wanted an on/off switch. But after he installed this I realized how much I LOVE being able to adjust the tone, color, and intensity of this light. The gold tones are so much more flattering than white-white. My husband likes to play with changing the colors, which seems to entertain him to no end! Lol

Installed many Hue Bulbs (30 plus) along with HUE motion detectors and a full setup for TV (Floor lights, Gradient lights and HUE SYNC) in the house and decided to upgrade some can ceiling lights to Infuse after reading some reviews and watching YouTube videos.After some setup issues with Hue motion sensors and Infuse lighting, I called service. They followed my case through to resolution. It took about 2-3 days but they did email and attempt to phone.The HUE product is super expensive but good quality. The Infuse lights look great on the ceiling.Installation was relatively straight forward. They did a good job on the design. You need to be able to handle 120v wires and screw in a securing plate. Once attached to the ceiling they are secure.Connection to HUE app was similar to other HUE bulbs with a Hub. The HUE app is overly complicated but improving over the years. I wouldn't say Philips is known for a great user interface or app development. Good hardware, but lacking on SW side.

I tried some other smart fixtures before this, but none worked quite right. This is installed on a three way switch, so there were issues with connectivity of the less expensive brands. The Hue has worked perfectly with both the switches and my Alexa devices.

This is a really nice fixture that looks great in my apartment. It is nice looking, is very bright when turned up, and the secondary light that shines up onto to the ceiling is a sharp feature.Installation was fairly quick and not that hard. As others have noted, the directions aren’t amazing-trying to be IKEA when it’s not quite that simple. However, watching a ten-minute YouTube guide prior to installation answered all my questions.I want to address a couple comments that this fixture is flimsy and/or looks cheap–I did not find either to be the case. It is made of the same materials as the Gradient Signe lamps. I would describe it as sturdy, not flimsy.It’s expensive, sure. Philips Hue is the top end of the market–this isn’t out of line at $250. You get what you pay for! I’m very satisfied.

What I would say first is for a 250.00 dollar bedroom or simple center of room overhead surface mount light you have in a huge percentage of American homes this would be a good light with the out of box set up. Having kids that already have a good understanding of voice controlled devices it is even more of a deal. They can adjust and control for fun affects, but it just a good ambient overall light also. If there is one thing that could be improved is the turn on speed. When you hit the switch there is a good one second delay.

I only had one ‘dumb’ light left in my home - the kitchen ceiling lamp. This is a beautiful fixture, illuminates the kitchen very brightly when needed. This was a definite concern for me. Now I can also incorporate the kitchen into a more colorful scene I have chosen for the rest of the house.

Philips Hugh does not make bright lights, but this one is a significant disappointment in terms of its output. They do hide the number of lumens, it is not listed on the box, but there was a figure listed in the Amazon product description that was not accurate. In the real world it sheds about 10% more light than 100 W Phillips color ambience bulb at its peak output frequency. I measured the peak output of this light at about 1250 lm.It is an unexpectedly beautiful light fixture though, and the halo light at the top is quite striking.It integrates well with the Phillips Hue systems, but a single fixture is barely sufficient in my case to illuminate a tiny hallway. This fixture would be wholly unsuited as the principal ceiling light in any room larger than about 5 x 5‘ in my opinion.A much better and cheaper solution would be to find ceiling light fixtures that you liked and that also took standard base bulbs, and then fill it with multiple Philips Hue hundred watt bulbs. Note that this would need to be a large larger fixture because the 100 watt bulbs are about an inch longer than the standard 60 watt equivalent hue bulbs.I will live with this one but, at least in terms of overall lighting output and quality, I have to consider it a downgrade. I would say do not buy this fixture.
