Absolutely dead easy to get it up and running, connect to your network, download the app and follow simple instructions and you are away. However. . Getting to that point could be tricky! If you are mounting to a brick wall and need the cables to pass through the wall then you will need to bore a hole through, I had to purchase a 28mm drill bit and do this as I wanted the cables hidden as it is mounted to my garage wall. Took some doing but got there! Also I had to buy a 12v power supply, one of those switchable ones with multiple ends. If you get to that point then it is well worth it, strong metal chassis, swivel ball mount to point it the right way. Great image quality, app is easy to tweak to suit your needs. Also purchase a 256gb micro sd card too. Overall a great product and well worth the investment 👌

Initial impressions are good. This unit is replacing a HikVision that I had for years with no problems but I felt I needed better quality.Set up was not too tricky. Key is to download the Reolink App and change to a new password.I am using Synology Surveillance Station and setting this up was a bit weird. The camera make and model are specified in the Surveillance station, and it would allow a test connection but never remain connected. Same with OnVif camaera type. Eventually I found you need to enable on the Reolink app : Device Info > Network Information > Advanced 1) http to access via a web browser. 2) RTSP 3) OnVif I’m not certain which of RTSP and OnVif or both are needed. In the Reolink device web page (you get to this logging into the IP address of the camera) the settings are in a different place. Its Network > Advanced > Server setting. BUT you need to have used the app it seems to change password and then turn on HTTP.I’m liking the quality of image but haven’t seen a daytime stream yet. Downside is field of view is a bit narrower than the old camera. Hoping the reliability is good. I use HomePlug for network with a PoE adapter and the old ones would occasionally need a reboot (the homeplug not camera). I also have some wide trunking to keep the cables out of sight. If this behaves itself I will replace my other one. The Reolink app seems very good for the limited interaction I have had. I didn’t use an SD card (not sure if I will - it’s required for time lapse on the Reolink app), but I can do it on Synology. I think detection could be better than Syno - it says flies and insects won’t trigger false alerts.

A quality camera for the price. Feels solid and build quality seems excellent. All metal body and wall plate.When set to clear/high, the picture is superb. Night pic also very good. I can zoom in on a number plate at 40+ feet no problem.Loads of detection options and settings to play with, which so far are accurate.Connected with no issues whatsoever via using a TP Link POE injector and 256GB Samsung SD card.Only issue is that if you want it on a wall and you don't want a junction box or wires hanging externally (the reset button and power cable - when connected via POE), you will need to drill a 20mm hole minimum. Even then I had to cut the redundant power cable off, so it would squeeze through the cavity wall. Poor design in my opinion.On the whole though, so much better than any Ring or Blink wireless camera.

Well, i am officially done with Reolink.This review is both for the RLC-810A and the RLC-510A.First off, when i got a 4 camera NVR kit back in 2017, ignoring the odd 'moment' the kit has had, it was great until a few months ago when recording started going missing, including changing to a different hard drive (used both WD RED and SG Skyhawk 4TB's).Was also getting problems playing back in that it was either wait until the hour ticked over or reboot just to see any footage, and even then i might loose the last hours footage.Went down the PC recording route with Blue Iris then found out the incompatibility problems with the old 410-4mp cams.Had 1x 410-5mp that i had added in 2018 that i could flash with their beta firmware to get that working but it wasn't perfect.So, got the 810A one to test and nothing but problems with this camera.Camera feed kept on freezing, cutting out on both BI and the latest Reolink software that it could only work on lowering the resolution to get it more stable but it was still unreliable.Same result on a short cable too.Not only tested the cable just in case, i also borrowed a Annke C800 and this was working great on the highest settings so no problems with the cabling.Also be warned that if you need to change the resolution after getting everything installed, it changes the FOV - so the lower you go, the less FOV you get.Never had this before and have to ask, why is this even a thing?So then returned the 810A and got the 510A camera, had the odd freeze but this time though it was the sound.It was like listening to something under water and couldn't make anything out at all, and that was when only when the sound did work as i had to keep on resetting the camera.Again, this is both BI and Reolink software's.All the above was also tested on 2 different PC's.And don't get me started on the software, app and firmware's over the years as there has been getting less and less control to what there used to be.Totally unreliable. Quitting Reolink, had enough.Ended getting the Annke C500 cameras as replacements and having absolutely no problems whatsoever including keeping the same FOV on different resolutions, all been working for a month now with absolutely zero issues and i have plenty of options/settings that can be adjusted and not locked away like Reolink.I also don't have the blurry issues that plague Reolink cameras (Google it).

Upgraded my Reolink WiFi camera overlooking the garage and drive, good definition and takes a much larger micro sd card. The black finish is not as glaringly obvious as the previous white camera.
