When I first got this brush I wore my hair straight even though I am naturally curly. I did not get a hairdryer to match though and just did the usual stuff for blowdrying to straighten my natural curls. It worked very well and I used some gloss spray to "set" after blowdrying. Gradually I went over to smoothing the dried hair with my flattening iron to add more shine. I must add that my hair is NOT the type that will see to it that the strands stick to one another. When it's left alone to dry by itself I would look like I was wearing a bird's nest on top of my head!Now I wear my hair curly as I had a cut the other day. The brush still works although perhaps not delivering the same results as for straight hair.

The measurements are not of the barrel - they're of the barrel plus bristles. So the 2 1/8 inch brush is in fact quite skinny,I bought another brush (different brand) at the same time, measuring 2 inches - and the measurement was just of the barrel, and it's a nice fat brush, perfect for blow-outs.Disappointed that there aren't consistent measurement standards for brush sizes.

This brush in the two different sizes I own are perfect for blowing out fine,curly hair. There is no tug or hair breakage from them unlike other brushes. They hold up well to the high heat of the dryer and my hair looks smooth after use. I also like that the finer bristles are able to pick up the baby wisps around my hairline.

I have just below the chin length hair and it still catches on the rubber portion of the handle during blow-dry. After a couple uses, I'm not noticing much of a difference in quality of my hair smoothness - but I will continue to try and see if I just need more time.

I love this brush. Perfect size for short to medium length hair. I've used thelse for sometime and only recently found them again. Thanks Amazon.
