Does it come assembled?
Is the face screwed AND glued on???
I’m confused with this product. I’m reading the reviews here, but there are reviews on maracas? Is this product a cajon (with the bag), or maracas...?
Are the snares adjustable?

Love this!

I had never played Cajon, I am a total beginner. I researched various brands and styles and chose this model based on ratings and online information, and its perfect for my needs. I watched video's online to get started playing. Its very well made, has good tone and designed so well that even though I am overweight it supports me just fine while playing and yet is very light weight to haul around. It comes in a VERY nice case to carry it. I have played with the worship team at church several times and people enjoyed hearing it. The regular Cajon player turns out also has this exact same drum and loves it, it was rec. to her by a drummer friend. This is a great beginner drum but can take you much farther than that as you progress. Playing really is a lot of fun!

Love it - snare or base beats are easy as 1-2-3

I had never used a cajon when I ordered this one, but I'm a believer now. This is a very inexpensive and easy option to add some percussion to your playing. I have seem some use a base drum pedal setup with a cajon, but I just slap it - or have someone else slap it to get the needed percussive sounds. Quality construction, easy to use, no setup, very simple. Sounds good and is priced right. Overall, I am glad to have ordered it and can recommend it to others. Comes with a nice storage/carry bag. Looks nice.

Good quality, Outstanding value

Just on value alone, I would give this five stars. For the price, this a pretty sweet deal.Quality of the product is pretty good, but obviously not top tier. Sounds great when I had a mic on it for church in our worship band- some good booms for the bass sound and decent snare as well. However, when I was just playing around at home, softly, you could hear some extra buzzing/rattling from the snares that was not desirable. Really not terribly noticable though. Overall, very happy with the product. Got more than what I paid for, in my opinion.

Very nice Cajon especially at this price... see my added Update

As you can see from the photos, this is not an under sized cajon. I am 6-1, 195 and find it comfortable. The onlyCon I can find with this cajon is the snare is noticeable when striking bass note. Of course you cannot expect a $100 cajon(that comes with a $30 or more case) to have the separation and tonal abilities of a $300 cajon. I did find that I needed to adjust the corners, even though Meinl says ready to play no adjustment needed, to suit my tastes. Now for the Pros: Cajon is well constructed, nice rounded edges, rubber feet on bottom, sounds very good, good bass volume(the snare on bass note is not that noticeable to those listening I am told) and includes a really nice case. I find no reason to not to recommend this cajon. Even if the case were not included it outclasses anything near it's price. Look at the finish and the interior construction (visible through the rear port/sound/mike hole) in the photos I have included and I think you will purchase this cajon. Also the case as I said is really nice with nylon web straps for handles, a HD nylon zipper with metal lockable loop, cordura-like woven nylon outer for durability, thin but dense foam padding, and a less abrasive but tough nylon inner lining.Update: I was asked a question and did not reply in time. The question "are the snares adjustable"; No, there are no adjustments for the snares. There are two snares attached inside the cajon. The only adjustment without modifying the cajon is to slightly loosen the top tree screws on the cabinet front corners which will make the snare sound more apparent. For the money I think you will be hard pressed to find a better sounding cajon. No cajon in this price range has adjustable snares that I know of. I Have had many comments on the sound quality of this cajon and it has held up well through many, many sessions.

Great sound and good quality

A super nice percussion addition to our home music nook. It's solidly built and has a thick bass sound and a crisp snare. Perfect for acoustic jam sessions. I'm sure you could play a gig with it, too. My six year old grandson loved the fact that he was able to immediately start playing with the grownups.

Meinl Cafe Cajon for my wife

I just received my CAJON.... and it looks ¡GREAT!Just as expectedGreetings to allI must say I was skeptical and a bit hesitant about purchasing this musical instrument online. I am a musician (bass, classical guitar, charango) & it is my preference to purchase my instruments at the store. You know, that feeling of trying out the instruments before you buy kind of thing. Anyhow...I opened up the box &, I must admit, I was surprised by the quality of the gig bag. ¡Superb! ... Not the cheap quality material you find anywhere. Very rugged & well made. Very spacious by the way. The cajon fits perfectly in the bag. NOW, the CAJON (kah-hOwn).... BEAUTIFUL. The wine red finish makes it look sharp. He he he he. Just as expected. It completely met my expectations.Yes, I had some cajon time right there for about 5 minutes. It's got great sound. Very clear & deep where it's gotta have it. The snare is clear, also, and not over the top. Overall, this is a great product. I am very satisfied with it. BTW... it's not for me, but my wife. It's a gift for her. She loves percussion instruments and she's been asking me for a cajon for the longest time ever. I'm sure she's gonna love it.Gabbo

Excellent Value

The Cajon is solidly built and the faceplate is very responsive, with two sets of snares behind it. For example, you can strike the two top corners very softly and it still resonates with excellent definition. The faceplate fingertap is quite high-pitched with good attack and the bass notes are full and deep. Of course, the snares are fixed but at a price point of $99, shouldn't really be asking for more. The Cajon bag is a bonus. Also, I have recorded on the Cajon using an Audix f10 placed two inches behind the soundport, and the sound is awesome! The faceplate also works very well with the Meinl Cajon pedal. An excellent value and a good entry into Cajon drumming.
