Intrepid International Comfort Plus Western Bareback Pad

I’m kind of a bareback purest but my breeches get so dirty and if I’m out for a long ride my bum gets pretty tired too so I broke down and ordered this pad. It’s super comfortable for me and my 17.2 girthy Percheron Mutt. It’s very light weight making it easy to use for a super casual trail rider like myself. I even feel a little more confident riding as this pad offers more grip than nothing at all, we’ve really been getting our giddy up on lately! I highly recommend this pad and I’ve youve got a big fella like me, don’t worry there is plenty of girth strap to go around.

Horse fit: I purchased the Intrepid International Comfort Plus Western Bareback Pad to use on several different horses and it fits well on both the larger girthed horses as well as the smaller girth horses.Horse comfort: I use a saddle pad under the Bareback pad for the horses' comfort, which seems to work well.Girth slippage: The girth slips a little bit at the buckle area so I make sure the velcro is keeping the buckle aligned with the girth.Rider comfort: the middle of the Bareback pad does not have as much padding as the thigh areas so it is a little uncomfortable for the rider if you are posting and have a horse with high withers.Conclusion: I am very happy with the Bareback Pad and I may wear padded bike shorts under my riding pants to help with some extra padding.

This pad is well worth the money. I put it on top of a regular saddle pad and it didn't slide around at all. It felt like I was floating on a cloud, and it made posting bareback a lot easier. The green is a really nice color. My only complaint doesn't have to do with the product itself, but the fact that the product page on here shows a green english pad that apparently doesn't even exist. I thought I was getting what was pictured but what was sent me looks different. Why are there english pads on a western pad page?

Well, I bought it and mentioned that anyone could try it out. I think all of the gals at the barn have used it and love it. We have reiners, dressage, western pleasure and trail riders including POAs, QHs and Friesians and all really enjoy it. I think it is a good tool. I use a saddle blanket under it for my QH but some ride without anything under.

I am a frugal shopper and while I didnt need this item, I wanted it really badly. After waiting months, I finally gave in and boy, am I glad I did. I ride bareback around the farm alot but always end up with the dirt/sweat rings on my jeans or breeches, which sometimes take a few washings to remove. ANYWAY, this product is quality. Soft, squishy and super comfortable. The girth is high quality as well and grips beautifully. During our frolicking, this pad did not slip one inch. My horse seemed it as well...I mean, what horse wouldnt prefer to have a soft cushion between him and his mama's bum sitting on his spine??? Its a no brainer. If you are considering buying a bareback pad, HIGHLY recommend this product. I am a happy, happy, happy consumer. Happy Trails.

This pad is fantastic. It offers terrific cushioning and does not slip. It makes riding bareback much more comfortable. I was a little disappointed that the picture for this item does not match up to the item you get, though.

This is the second time I've ordered this saddle...the first time I sold my horse and the saddle went with her. This is by far the best bareback pad I've ever used! (I've used several!). I should mention it is MY ONLY SADDLE...I ride exclusively bareback. Fantastic saddle, easy to fit to horse, comfortable, easy to keep clean (I use a secondary English pad underneath too) and very reasonable price! You don't have to "try out" any more pads...TGIS is the one you'll want(=

its awesome except I worry that the girth strap that came with it might be uncomfortable for my sensitive foster mare. The bottom part of it has nice cushion but some of it is very thin straps and I worry that these could dig into her. I may consider adding more padding to it myself or looking to buy a more comfortable girth strap.
