Great DIY Find
Okay, I’m a diy guy. I have about 5 stud finders in my toolbox and some were pricey. Always had problems. Watched a YouTube recently and saw these. I suppose they have been around forever? They just glom on to the drywall nails in studs. So easy. I love them. So positively easy and cheap. HIGHLY recommended for new diy’ers.

Simple and accurate!
I own a fancy version of a studfinder that has failed me all too many times. Got sick and tired of patching holes in my drywall where there were no studs. This works perfectly, is a fraction of the cost of the fancy battery operated ones, and I love how it stays on the wall once a nail/screw in a stud is found! Bonus: easy to find in my tool bag, since the magnet sticks to almost everything! 🤣 Proves to me once again that keeping things simple can be a beautiful thing. Happy customer.

Simple, Reliable, and Made in the USA – Perfect for Everyday Use!
The StudBuddy Magnetic Stud Finder is a straightforward, reliable tool that gets the job done without any fuss. Its simplicity is its strongest feature—no batteries or complicated settings required. Just glide it along the wall, and the strong magnet quickly identifies screws or nails in studs. I’ve used it for hanging shelves and artwork, and it’s consistently pinpointed studs behind drywall and wood paneling.I appreciate that it’s made in the USA and feels durable in hand. While it won’t replace electronic stud finders for heavy-duty projects, it’s perfect for quick tasks and avoids the frustration of false readings. For anyone needing an affordable, no-nonsense tool for everyday household use, the StudBuddy delivers.

Simple, effective and accurate.
This is a straightforward and effective tool. Now that I have one, I want to kick myself for not building my own with a few rare-earth magnets and scrap wood. However, the past is past. As for the product, it works well and makes it hard to screw up and miss a stud. I am happy to have them for various projects rather than fiddle with a higher-tech option that often fails to work right.

Perfect solution, if you are solving the right problem.
If you’re just looking to locate the metal screws indicating a stud, and need none of the fancy features of electronic devices, this is impossible to. beat for the price. It’s just a very strong magnet in an easy-to-use form factor.

Will Not Work on Plaster Walls
I have to return these and I am SAD!!! I knew the reviews were good; but info needs to be shared that if you have plaster walls (and mine are likely plaster/lath), these stud finders won’t work. I found other metal couplings (or whatever) near door jams, but it could not find the studs. Tried for over 30 min, and slid them over the entire wall. Nothing. Magnets are not strong enough to detect nail heads through plaster/lath. So while I think they are likely very good for normal carpentry, probably not the best if you have plaster walls.
