I’ve purchased multiple versions of the Govee Neon Rope Light 2 over the past year, and I can honestly say they’re some of the best smart lights I’ve ever used. Every time I install a new one, I’m reminded why I keep coming back to this product: it’s bright, beautifully diffused, easy to control, and just plain fun.The design of the Neon Rope Light 2 is a step above traditional LED strips. The flexible silicone diffuser creates a clean, solid line of color that looks more like actual neon than any other light I’ve tried. It doesn’t have that dotted “pixel” look you get with regular strips—just a smooth, continuous glow that looks great both on and off. Whether it’s wrapped around furniture, lined along the ceiling, or shaped into designs on the wall, the light always looks polished and intentional.One of the biggest reasons I’ve bought multiple is how adaptable they are. I’ve used them to add accent lighting in my living room, behind my TV, around my desk, and even as ambient lighting in my bedroom. No matter the setup, they elevate the space. You can bend and mount them into custom shapes or just follow a straight line, and the mounting clips keep everything secure.The RGBIC tech is a game changer. You can display multiple colors along the strip at once, and the transitions are smooth and vibrant. The scene modes in the Govee app are actually useful—some are energetic and animated, others more subtle and relaxing. And the DIY mode gives you full control if you want to design your own patterns or color combinations. It’s perfect for setting the mood whether you’re watching a movie, hosting friends, or just relaxing after work.The Govee app is easy to use and has been consistently reliable for me. Pairing the lights is quick, and once they’re connected, I’ve had no issues with drops or delays. The scheduling feature is handy, and the integration with Alexa and Google Assistant makes it easy to control them with voice commands. I even have different lights set to come on at different times or react to music when I’m in party mode.These lights are also built well. The silicone is thick and durable, the lighting is bright without being harsh, and nothing feels flimsy or cheap. After months of use, all my sets still look and function like new.Overall, the Govee Neon Rope Light 2 has totally changed how I think about lighting. After opening the box it can be a bit overwhelming, there’s a lot of small pieces and I got a bit overwhelmed — but, if you go on YouTube and search “Govee neon lights” there’s a 30 second video that really simplified the process for me! I am autistic and struggle with written instructions, so it was a great visual. I got the largest size and it wraps around my desk perfectly. These lights are incredibly bright and have tons of different color combinations / themes. You can also customize them individually and pick the colors you’d like to see. My favorite feature is definitely the music sync, it can seem a little too sensitive at first but there is a sound sensitivity slider in the app! I have the music box right behind my Echo, and it responds well.For the entire part of squiggles I didn’t use any of the bending connectors. I used the shortest ones and just made sure to have them shaped in a way where curving would be natural for them. I didn’t have a shape planned and just went for it. The heart bit at the end was a bit more complicated but I ended up using the straight clips for that part as well. Also, the screws would likely come in handy but I am in an apartment! The curved ones just kept falling off the wall and I believe it was because of the tension. These lights are definitely something you’ll have to play with for a bit to get them exactly how you want them, but it is 100% worth it!They’re very durable and insanely nice in terms of quality. The best LED’s you could find IMO (in my opinion). They connect to the Govee Home app as well as my Echo Show. 100% would recommend, just have some patience and trust the process!These are super bright, so I’d recommend blackout curtains in front of your window to avoid giving everyone outside a light show as well, haha. Amazing lights!

fantastic addition to any space. It’s bright, flexible, and easy to install. The vibrant colors and dynamic scenes, especially when synced with music, create an immersive atmosphere. While the Govee app offers extensive customization, it can be a bit complex to navigate. Overall, it’s a great choice for enhancing your room’s ambiance

The media could not be loaded. We were working on our living room fireplace project and I wanted some form of recessed lighting behind the fireplace. Initially I wanted to go with led strip lighting installed with a diffuser. But these Neon LED lights turned out to be better option since you don’t need diffuser for them. While these neon led light are slightly more expensive than strip lights the cost is actually lower if you factor in the cost of diffuser and effort it takes to install them right. Since diffuser isn’t needed for them you just have to stick them using the anchors that come with it. The anchors also come with screws for extra stability. The installation is very easy as these are lightweight and easy to handle.The Govee app allows lots of personalization and customization options along with many pre created themes. It works with Google and Alexa. While it is Matter compatible I couldn’t get it to work with my HomeKit. They are complementing my new fireplace really well. I will be using them for other projects in my home.

This light is a lot of fun and easy to play with! I think it will be great for hosting parties and turning it into shapes that fit the theme of the party. The light is bright and the colors are vibrant. The colors don’t bleed together if you segment them. I have not stuck it on my wall yet so I do not know how well it adheres to the wall. It holds shapes well though and is easy to bend. Pairs easily with my phone and the app is straightforward and easy to use. Overall has a great performance and looking forward to buying the longer version in the future!
