Recently I cancelled pay to view TV and having already owned one ROKU on another TV I wanted another for the TV in the kitchen.I read up and this model was reviewed as the best option for me.The model is fast and easy to operate. The updated handset is easy to set up to use with the TV and there is a volume control on the side.Easy to download on and operate with a vast number of programmes and films.Great value for money.

I've had a Roku stick before but wanted to try this format so that I could trail a longer hdmi cable to my avr (to use it to switch output to a projector as well as a tv). It works well. The only issue was getting the settings on the TV right so that the Roku would recognise it as a 4k screen. Otherwise it would only offer 1020p. Managed it eventually, so that 4k and hdr are on hand. The picture and sound are excellent, the choice of apps is great, and the device operates slickly. I have not tried its competitors but would not feel I had to. Recommended.

Works well

The device appears to work well and is reasonably easy to set up. Apps (such as BBC iPlayer) were quite easy to set up.But - it comes with a US format power supply and you either need to connect the USB cable to your TV or provide your own power supply. Whilst the photo of the package contents does show this, there is nothing in the product description.I tried connecting the USB to my TV but, even though it is rated the same as the one supplied, it wasn't enough. The symptom is that the unit doesn't respond to the remote and the blue LED flashes (online help is unclear on this and suggests HDMI problems). End result - I had to find my own power supply.

My Samsung television does not support the iFIT app and I have positioned it to use the bigger screen with my exercise bike. So I use this to give me Roku, which does give me ifit. Then I play my iFIT workouts synchronously on my exercise bike screen and a large TV ( Samsung with this device on HDMI input) positioned ahead of me. Works a treat and saved me upgrading to a 27 inch screened Nordic track bike. The only extra work is synchronising the two iFIT workout streams but that gets pretty easy once you are used to doing it. 38” screen is ace!

Easy setup and works really well, I have three of these now and I’m really impressed.
