It is a joyful little thing that works
What a little magical plane this is. It is joy to use. the day it arrived I had a small box that I wanted to soften the rectangular 90 edges, of course I can do that with the router, but who needs all that aggressive noise. A few passes with this tiny thing and the edges are all softened just like that. Well built and good value for the money.

Small But Mighty
I wanted something that would shave my door jam due to weather expansion. I did not want something that would take a chunk out of the board. Nor disintegrate in my hand. This is a real tool, that has a great edge hold, commercial-grade thickness, great design, comfortable to use. Perfect for job.

Too small for a door edge
It seems to work to some degree but is really too small for even the side of a door, which is what I'm trying to shave down. The fairly adjustable blade is sharp and I can see that it's taking off some amount of wood, but it's so small that it would take me quite some time to get this job done.I'll be in search of a slightly larger planer.

It really works!
This little plane is cute as a button, and I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that it's a real tool! The sole arrived dead flat, and the same was true of the back of the iron. All I had to do was put a tiny 30 degree bevel on the edge and it started making shavings like crazy. The body did not need any deburring, and the lip of the mouth is almost sharp enough to cut on its own if it weren't flush with the rest of the sole. My only complaint is that dialing in the cut depth is a tad finicky; it doesn't take a big adjustment to go from not cutting at all to cutting too deep. It would probably be a good idea to lightly camber the corners of the iron.Note that this is a bevel-up plane. That means that it requires no chip breaker, which makes it super simple to assemble and tune. The whole plane consists of three basic parts: body (with adjusting screw), frog (with tightening screw), and iron. This is an amazingly effective little tool for the price.

Awsome plane!
Super solid little plane. Cutting iron is really thick and the adjuster works quite well. A quick hone and it was cutting shavings you can almost see thru. Plane body is heavy for it's size and the sole is very flat.

Perfect tool for precise work.
I got a little concerned after reading some poor reviews but I am completely satisfied. It's just the right size for the fine work building mandolins. I did run the blade across a 6000 grit stone and got an even, razor sharp edge. Set to remove just a few thou it pushes smoothly across maple, walnut, or mahogany. It's almost effortless on spruce. Highly recommend.

Good little plane, needed tuning
Ergonomics is good. It is a srandard angle plane (20°). Blade 7/8" wide and 1/8 thick (thick!) with 25° bevel.I like the adjustment wheel but you have to sight it, there's a lot of play in it.Out of the box,the blade hole in the bottom had bumps on the edge. I quickly filed that off with 220 sandpaper and polished with 400 almost to a mirror. The metal is very soft, I'm sure you can just do 400. I recommend a mirror finish, that makes it easy to sight the blade as you are tightening it.The blade bevel was not ground flat, more like a small dip in the middle. I gound it to more or less flat shape on the stone. The edge is more important and you'll probably put a secondary bevel, but i just mostly kept the 25°
