Washing soda, sodium carbonate, has been used for centuries as a detergent. It is not a crude oil product. This pack of 3 kg bags was very good value. A minor complaint is that the powder inside the sealed bags was solidified. This is not a big problem you just need to scrape it out with a spoon.

Excellent for cleaning a vast majority of things, also useful for cleaning Silver Items with the additional help of Tin Foil placed shiny side up with a sprinkling of Soda Crystals on top. You can then place your Silver Cutlery on top emerged in warm waterl leaving it to soak for a while. Remove, rinse and buff up.

The powder was as it should be when bought in supermarkets it's usually hard lumps.

Very disappointed to find that all packs were rock hard. I have used this product before, and it was free -flowing then. Being like a rock limits usage . ..it is impossible to sprinkle onto anything, nor even put down a drain.

I use this with my washing detergent in the washing machine as it's beneficial for the machine in keeping away bad smells which in turn is helpful to stop the growth of bacteria in machine pipes & it enhances the detergents performance as well as combating the waters hardness. I always make sure I have a supply of them in my cupboard.But my last box of 3 came in a solid lump in their bag's, don't think it affects its performance but it has to all be broken up to enable to pour it when needed.
