Poor man's Seiko. Half price bargain.
The media could not be loaded. No sapphire glass, no titanium case but still mesmerising to watch that gliding seconds hand. Keeps good time when on your hand.Looks good. Works well. Day to day beater.I have many quartz quality watches but this is my favourite one. For Sundays and Xmases I have got an Orient one. Also a very budget one but with my favourite roman numerals. Will update on Lorus if things go wrong or get dissapointed with it.Otherwise this is quality on a very low budget.Fan of quartz ones ? Get a similar, smaller, military / field lumibrite Lorus for 25% of the price here or with a well known UK high street , formerly "catalogue shop"-------As for fraying strap [ strap is still decent with a lovely easily noticeable colour that will get you a lot of compliments ] as some point out :use your lighter's flame and with swift movement ( ⚠️do not stop even for a fraction of a second as it will melt and ruin the fabric ⚠️) back and forth 2-3 times seal it and press/ pat the sides gently with your two fingers.Edit - 2nd of February 2025. Keeps as good time as quartz. Joy ! This is truly Seiko quality. Will update further.

OK for a cheap automatic watch
You tend to get what you pay for.Keeps time relatively well, gains about 5 seconds a day when worn. Night glow again is quite good. Would have liked a screwdown crown and when crown pulled out would have liked it to "stop" the second hand - this would make it easier to set. Not bad for work and i work mostly outside and haven't had any issues in 4 months 🙃

Quality for a reasonable price (£94)
Reasonably priced for excellent quality, the timekeeping is very accurate, been wearing it for a week now, only off to sleep and as far as i can see has only lost seconds, if that. The strap is as others have said a bit cheap looking but it is robust and does wear in quickly so fairly comfortable to wear; the tip is fraying.Very readable, numbers rather than markers and also an inner ring for 24 hours; the mechanism is quiet, i have a citizen when you take it off its very audible but this doesnt do that. The only con is the luminesence, it seems almost non existent, but as i don't wear it at night isnt an issue.

Lovely watch
Had this watch for a couple of weeks now and have had no issues with it. It does need to be worn fairly regularly to ensure the movement keeps going but as this is now my daily wear watch that’s no issue. I have not had any issues with the second hand stuttering so far, as other reviews have mentioned. I have another automatic with the same movement and it’s been fine as well. Keep an eye out for deals as I managed to pick this up for just over £40.

Very poor watch.
Bought this watch 10 weeks ago thinking it will work as did my other automatic that lasted over 30 years. No such luck. This thing stops every night in spite the swinging before bedtime. I can not recommend it and will be asking for a refund of my money.

Excellent
Got this for an unbelievable £46, couldn't turn the deal down when I saw the price as this is basically a Seiko 5.The watch itself is very nice, sits quite large on the wrist but I like that, basic but functional.Cat say for timekeeping and reliability yet as it's early days. The only complaint I have is the strap is somewhat uncomfortable and is already fraying on the end, I won't criticise too much as the price was so cheap, I will replace with a quality leather strap or maybe a NATO who knows.Very satisfied 👍

Issues with it
I own several automatic Seiko watches and, never had an issue so thought, a punt on a Lorus might be worth it. Lorus is part of Seiko but, I'm not sure they have ventured into this market before? To be honest, I'd look to Orient as the sister company to Seiko in automatic watches; I own an Orient and, it's a very good watch. This looks almost exactly like it could sit among the Seiko5/Seiko5 Sport range but, is close to half the price so, what has been compromised?Big downside, it was shipped with a clear defect on the bezel ring. Question mark over whether Lorus have the same quality control as their parent company, hence 3 stars.Plus side, the lume on the face is very good, it feels OK in the hand and on the wrist. The movement is non-hacking and appears like it doesn't wind but, at this price point not an issue, comparable with Seiko. Day/date adjustment is a little clunky but again, reality is that this is cheaper than many quartz offerings.Overall, as I said, it 'feels' OK but, it just has the feel of being less than a real Seiko, can't put my finger on why, it's a decent watch and as an entry point to automatic watches, you could not go wrong with it but, check over the casing for defects that might have slipped by Lorus QC.Overall,
