Jump Into Science: Sand

A very well written book very clear simple read, and understanding of the different sands. Great examples. Used for kids to understand the difference of stands very good. Very good book.

This book was very educational for my 4 year old who was learning all about sand at school. It was a quick and easy reads she understood it well. Loved the illustration on it as well.

This goes with my sand unit and sand collection. There are not a lot of books out there on the subject. Even though the book is geared for younger students, I have 5th graders grabbing the book. I read the book to the younger students. The book talks about the different colors of sand and where you can find sand (beach, desert, mountains).My students look at sand under simple 30 power microscopes. Students are amazed at what they see. I have used the book as an introduction to the lesson and as a wrap up.

Great piece of literature to support the content being taught during a lesson.

Sand completed our collection of the excellent Jump into Science series. It didn't seem like it would be as interesting, but I have to admit, I was wrong - Sand is as fascinating as any of the others in the series... Dirt, Honeybees, Moon, etc... ! My kids, ages 5 and 6, love the book and really enjoyed doing the science activity at the end.

I bought this book for my preschool class for our unit on sand and the children loved it. It is very well written and informative.

This is a little advanced for my 5 yr old grandson, but I have to say, he listened to me read every word and asked questions too. I even learned some things I didn't know. We will definatley read this book over and over again.

I teach elementary children about different types of beaches. We also discuss how sand comes from rocks. This book shows many different colors of sand and explains why. It is easy to understand. I'm glad I purchased my own copy since I use it so much.
