This is an awesome tool to add power to the system easily!
I really like that it houses two batteries. I also purchased two larger ma batteries so my run time is good for approximately 3 time the normal single battery. This product came just as described and was super easy to install.

Vivitar Branded Chinese Grip - Works Well But Pricy When Compared to "Neewer" Brand
This is a quality grip - it's plastic with rubber grips but doesn't feel cheap and fits the camera perfectly. The Nikon D5500 is simply too small, I'm not Charles Atlas and my pinky hangs below the camera. The grip changes an uncomfortably small body into a very ergonomic and well balanced camera. It attaches easily, looks good (I have a Nikon grip for my D7000 and the appearance of this grip is not too different) and works well.To attach: turn the camera off, remove the battery, and open the battery cage door to a 45 degree angle. Pull the door out gently but firmly and it will pop off as it is designed to do. Store the battery cage door in the slot on the grip post (the vertical post with contacts on top). Slide the post into the battery cage, engage the mounting screw with the D5500's tripod socket and rotate the locking wheel on the grip. Remove the battery tray from the grip (turn the small blade on the side of the grip counterclockwise and pull), insert one or two batteries and replace the tray.To use: power up the camera. Occasionally it will complain that the battery is not compatible. This is a transient error. Either power off the camera, remove and reinsert the battery or do what I did: attach the vertical shutter release cable. The short black cable is used to activate the vertical shutter release on the grip. The usb end attaches to the usb accessory port on the left side of the D5500. The small miniplug end of the cable is attached to the grip. Pry open the small port on the left side of the grip just below the camera body (it has a smallish notch protruding, use your fingernail to pry on this) and insert the cable then power up the camera. The grip's vertical shutter is nowhere near as sensitive as the camera's shutter so I never use it - I use the grip primarily to balance the camera and give myself more to grab on to and to double up on battery life. The drawbacks to this grip are:1) the vertical release shutter cable - if Nikon had made a grip for this camera (they did not) you wouldn't need this extra item.2) the battery issue described above - I only had this problem on my first use of the grip. It may reoccur but I've shot many frames with the grip and changed batteries, it seems to work fine at this point.3) The oversize locking ring on the front of the grip gets in the way slightly. My fingers rest on it when I hold the camera vertically.*** Lastly *** this is a Vivitar branded Chinese grip. It is ***identical*** to the "Neewer" brand grip that Amazon sells for $28.99. I know this for a fact as I own both grips. I bought the Neewer as a backup - it's the same device, absolutely identical. If you're a Prime customer you will end up saving $20.00 if you buy the Amazon "Neewer" version.Hope this is useful!

Good price, works as expected
Good price, works as expected. The dual battery compartment works differentlyrics than I'm used to. Instead of inserting batteries directly into the unit, you most remove the carriage and insert them into it, then reinsert

Great buy for your Nikon d5600.
Works great. I have big hands and this helps me to hold onto my Nikon d5600. Easy to replace the two batteries.
