Great Shoulder Support – Easy to Put On Alone!

I got this Sparthos Shoulder Brace to help with some ongoing shoulder pain, and it’s been a great support tool. I read a lot of reviews before ordering and saw several people mention it was hard to put on without help—but I had no trouble at all. I was able to adjust and secure it by myself without any issues. The fit is snug, the compression feels just right for me, and it’s comfortable enough to wear for hours. Definitely worth it if you need stability and relief for a rotator cuff or joint issue!

Great as a pain reliever on serious injuries

A good brace for pain relief. The adjustable strap around the bicep provides sufficient compression and traction to prevent the brace from sliding, and the material is soft enough on the skin all day long, BUT! make sure to have an arm sleeve to prevent rash from developing during movements. Just make sure to hand wash and air dry them first before wearing or you'll suffer from a new material smell. It's definitely not a new car smell.I paired my shoulder brace from Grade 3 clavicle fractures (multiple pieces) and Grade 2 rotator cuff with the Amazon Choice arm sleeve set. A combination of these kinds of injuries are not something you can just enjoy life on a daily basis. The brace helps to make my shoulder feel less painful than most recovering days without it. If I have to measure the pain, it's between 5 and 6 out of 10 during movements. This is coming from a person with extreme high pain tolerance and not use any pain medication. The brace reduces the pain level down to 1, may be 2, out of 10 around the rotator cuff areas during movement. It reduces down to 0 without movements instead of 2 or 3 out of 10. This also reduces the range of motion by around 10 percent, but the support increases around 50 percent with it on compared to not having it at all. Too much range of motions can exceed its capacity to help. The downsides:The first thing is the biting. Like most indicated, the cuff strap around the arm will bite into your skin after an hour of use if you're going clothless. My suggestion is to wear the brace over your clothing with a sleeve going past your bicep. If you don't have a medium sleeve clothing, get an arm sleeve. The next is the abrasion. Yes, all braces, be the shoulder, elbow, or knee, there's an element of rubbing that cause abrasion during movement. A sleeve is needed, either from the clothing or a sleeve by itself. I highly suggest the standalone arm sleeve with good compression. Having compression helps with blood flow through the area for faster recovery.Third is the strap. I'll gladly pay a bit more if the strap is reinforced with a 0.5in or 1in polyester strap to increase the durability of the chest strap. The current chest strap design is soft, but it's too flexible, causing the strap to stretch too far and too fast. This reduces the amount of durability of the strap. I can understand the kinetic potential of the strap from the generated during movement, but adding two reinforced strips on each 1/3 ends of the strap will retain the kinetic potential of the strap while increasing the overall durability. It's a cheap investment to gain a bit of relief from the pain. It won't last long, but hopefully it will last long enough to allow me to recover for the next four months.

Shoulder brace

This brace helps me, I’m a 60 yr old man working in the HVAC trades with a torn rotator cuff. I can’t afford to lose 6 months pay for surgery and rehab. It does ease the pain some what ….. don’t get old .

Not a universal fit

If you have ANY bulk to your bicep/tricep area, this will fit uncomfortably tight. Im not overly muscular or fat in my upper arms, but the “universal” size barely is able to strap around my upper arm. Meanwhile, there is plenty of adjustment in the torso area.

No major complaints here. Seems like a good value to me.

Just got it delivered about an hour ago. For just 20 bucks, it's shockingly not as uncomfortable as I would have thought. It has that typical chinese off gassing smell to it straight out of the box, but other than that, no complaints. Have a hard to heal rotator injury, and wearing it tight. It's feeling pretty good so far. First time in years that I've been genuinely satisfied with a piece of Amazon's chinese junk.

Need a friend (or three) to help get it in place

tl;dr - Unless you have someone to help you put this on each and every time, don't bother. If you have issues with both shoulders and don't have someone to help, seriously... run away from this product. At first, I thought this was going to be a great product. I have a separated AC joint in my left shoulder and work related repetitive stress damage to both shoulders (possibly rotator cuff degeneration, but I haven't gotten an MRI done to find out yet) and wanted something to help support my shoulders now that I've left that position. From what I saw in the pictures, it looked pretty straightforward. I grabbed my measuring tape to ensure I got the right size and waited for it to show up.I consider it a waste of $20. After 30 minutes, I finally got the brace on with a LOT of struggling. The box says "ask someone to assist you if needed" - no, there is no "if needed". You WILL need assistance if you don't want to aggravate whatever shoulder conditions you may already have. Step 4 says, "Reach around your back and grab the main strap" but there's a problem with that step... the end of the strap is likely going to be sitting right in between your shoulder blades. You know... that pesky little spot no normal human can reach, even if their shoulders aren't messed up. Step five says, "Tighten the pocket for increased stability" but the problem with that is that one of the two velcro tabs is directly over your shoulder blade at that point. So, unless you have help (or go-go-gadget arms) it's not going to be adjusted evenly. What I ended up having to do was get everything adjusted the best I possibly could BEFORE putting the brace on - and then squeezing it over my head and into place...which resulted in the "hook and loop" popping free, so I had to start over. After four tries, I finally got it on. Only to have the "hook and loop" pop free AGAIN with the most basic of movements. So after about two hours of trying to give it a fair shot, but having to constantly readjust and resecure the weak "velcro" I gave up and took it off. If anything, it actually aggravated both of my shoulders through the effort of trying to get it in place.

Great product helped my shoulder.

Totally helped my pulled rotater cup. I had to wear it for months but I am totally healed. It was the best $35 I ever spent.
