Rawlings MLB official baseballs are a versatile gift. You can have your favorite players sign the balls or use them to play with. There are more inexpensive baseballs to purchase if it’s intended purpose is the latter and more expensive specialty baseballs if it’s the former. Amazon’s price point is better than most competitors including the manufacturer Rawlings.What you get is the ball itself and the UV(ultra violet) protected case which can cost as high as $6.00 on its own, and yes pirates and unscrupulous vendors sell them separately. The case’s UV capability as far as I can tell is quite good as I have owned baseballs for decades with little to no fading on either the ball itself or the ink from the autographs. The cases are stackable if you intend to purchase more than one. In the case they are approximately 3.25” by 3.2”. The balls themselves may contain minor imperfections as with any mass produced item like stitches fraying and marks on the leather etc. Overall this does not detract from the product and the price I paid. Additionally some foul balls I was fortunate enough to catch at games themselves also have these quirks. The balls are manufactured in Costa Rica.Overall I subscribed to purchase these balls from Amazon because I go to many Minor and Major League Baseball games to get autographs from the players. These balls are perfect keepsakes that can be passed on from generation to generation.

Hard to open but I liked it

If you know what you're buying this is a great purchase. If you think (as I did) that this is up to pro-spec for a few dollars less you'd be wrong. The seams are uneven and would never make it to a big league field. And that's OK. It looks great in the clear case and perfect to take to a signing or to a game if you're feeling lucky.The case is decent quality clear plastic and while it does not have printing at the base for this run it does have an MLB Authentic sticker on the case. There are push tabs at the base for opening it which work well. I wouldn't make a habit of opening it a lot, the plastic will fatigue and crack.Could you play catch with it? Of course!!!! It's not going to fly apart. Are you going to get consistent 100MPH heaters with it? No, probably not. I'm not a pro, and neither are you so make an informed decision.Enjoy!

been a baseball fan for 50 years, never caught a ball at the ball park but still hope someday I might. So I bought this thing and it's sitting on my desk as a fidget toy/gadget. Like it -feels great in my hand and is a stress relief. IMO it has a few imperfections, and I think these balls are produced in the same process as the game balls but they failed the QA and are sold to the public as authentic balls. That's my take on it

The Rawlings Official 2024 MLB baseball is a fantastic collectible! The quality is excellent, and the included display case is a great bonus for keeping it protected. A must-have for fans or memorabilia collectors.
